Hi guys, I was just wondering if it was possible to jailbreak+unlock my iPhone 4 that's on 4.3.5 with modern firmware 4.10.01, or better yet, if I could upgrade to 5.0.1 (with custom IPSW) and then jb+unlock.
I've been searching around for the past few days with no prevail
Thank you very much!

So there's absolutely no way w/o a gevey?? And yeah, I'll definitely update using a custom IPSW.

You can call your carrier and ask if they offer unlocks.

I tried that, but the problem is, the iPhone wasn't originally mine when it was under the 2-year contract. It's a hand-me-down that was given up for the 4S.

Find a friend/relative who is an AT&T (or whomever sold the phone originally) customer and have them get it unlocked.

Hmm, for some reason AT&T wants to talk with the original owner of the phone, which won't be possible for me to do for the next few months... Is there any way of doing this on my own, with like ultrasn0w or something?

Thanks for the replies guys!

Just wondering, does this make any sense to you guys?
Once again, thanks a ton!

That article is a joke, did you even read the steps ?
There is not one word in there about an unlock, even though it is in the title.

As you have been told twice, your options are a Gevey sim interposer or AT&T IMEI unlock.

The AT&T customer only have to say the iPhone is his and it can be done.
