Basically, I have an iPhone 3GS with an AT&T contract. I want to unlock it and sell it so I can buy an iPhone 4. How will this work? Wont the phone number/serial number still be registered under my name? Can I unlock my iPhone and still use AT&T service?

Wont effect anything. Whoever buys it wil just stick in their sim card and it will work on their network with their registered card with their own number.
