Can I update to iOS 6 with a jailbreak ?

Hello I am going to get the iOS 6 today !! But I have a jail broken iPod touch 4g and iPhone 3GS, I wanna know if I am able to update but I really dont mind if the jailbreak is gone, I'll just wait for another. So can I still update ?

Mine failed during update, I'm going to try a restore before upgrade.

If you are jailbroken you HAVE TO restore before updating.

Question. If you restore your iphone jailbroken with 5.1.1 does it revert to regular 5.1.1 or update to ios6 as a new device?

It restored to 5.1.1, now restoring data from backup, then I can choose to install iOS 6 I presume.

That's how it worked when iOS 5 was released, anyway.

EDIT: nevermind, it automatically went to 6.0 after the restore from backup.
