Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard with.....

Snow Leopard 10.6 install Disc for a 17" macbook pro that was purchased in November 2009. The owner's laptop was stolen...and the owner who's a relative of mine sold me the discs for little or nothing cause their insurance covered it.


Can I use the one that came with the 17" macbook pro to upgrade or clean install on a June 2009 - 13" macboook pro (same one in my signature) ?

will it install/upgrade smoothly?

No, the discs are tied to the specific model of machine they came with.

It won't work. The discs that come with a computer only work with that computer. It doesn't hurt to try, but I am 99.9999% sure it won't work.

I had ordered my discounted $10.00 upgrade disc back in september from Apple because I was eligible since I got my Mac in June....and shipped to another relative cause I was out of town and they lost the disc...lmao... woes!!

Of course even a 'full' version of Snow Leopard costs less than 30 bucks.
