When the iPhone comes out, will I be able to get it at the "subsidized" price? I'm confused, I just checked my upgrade eligibility on AT&T's site and it gave me two paragraphs. This is what it says:

You are not eligible to upgrade at a discounted price due to your length of service. However, you may still purchase a phone/device at the full price. Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade at a discounted price on 06/20/2010

You are eligible for an early upgrade to an iPhone at a reduced discount. Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade to an iPhone at a discounted price on 06/20/2010

Does this mean I will get it at the crappy "reduced rate" or the subsidized rate? What is the "reduced rate", let's compare it to the current 3GS, which is $299 for the 32gb, what would be the reduced rate if the full price is $699?

Assuming the new iPhone prices are the same as the current, the reduced rate for the 16GB 3GS is 399 and 499 for the 32GB. Its 200 off full retail for early upgrade. For full upgrade its an additional 200, so 400 off full retail making it 199 or 299.

I paid $499 for my 32GB 3GS. This is the partial subsidy. You will be eligible for the full iPhone subsidy ~2 weeks after the release of the 4th generation iPhone, if rumors are to be believed.

It means you will be able to update at the full subsidy price on 06/20/2010
Its pretty easy to comprehent...

Yeah, you would think...however, I purchased the 3G at full subsidized rate in October 2008 and then purchased the 32GB 3GS on launch day at full subsidized rate $299...so you can imagine how I'm confused.

Oh yeah....COMPREHEND...you know, with a "D" and it's with an apostrophe (as in it is).

If your line is over $99/month you get your full upgrade every 12 months instead of 18/24. That's why you get the full subsidy every year.

Wrong thread and no you can't.

How about COMPREHEND to call and ask AT&T instead of posting a thread here.
Unfortunatelly we do not have acesss to your wireless accounts info:rolleyes:

You're not eligible for the discount until 6/10. However, if you want an iPhone right now, you can get one at a REDUCED discount, meaning less discount, meaning higher price. So somewhere in between. Wait until 6/20 and get the G4/HD. You are not eligible for a full discount right now

I imagine you would make more mistakes in Greek than Applejuiced does in English. Way to treat people you're asking help of.

I thanked the proper people for the help; however, when applejuiced decides to post a smart@$$ answer to a valid question, they will hence receive a smart@$$ response. So, if you wish to participate in MY thread and offer a response without being a jerk, I will oblige by saying, "thank you". Until then, go be a jerk somewhere else.

Thank you, that clears things up for me.

I think the real jerk just revealed himself.

Upgrade in June.

all hell is going to break loose if you can't get you iPhone on launch day
Save yourself $200-300 and wait two days until 6/20/10
assuming the iPhone 4G comes out at the estimated date
