So I have a 17" mbp and somehow I switched it's 85W charger with a 60W at some point. I'm buying a 85W, but it doesn't come with an extension cord, I'm wondering if I can use the extension that came with the 60W without any issues?

The extension itself doesn't specify whether it's 60W or 85W so I am hoping it's transferable. (and just to clarify I mean the apple extender that typically comes with new laptops).

Yes it's fine. It's the brick that determines the output wattage. The cord merely supplies the brick with electricity from your wall outlet.

The three pronged extension cord can be used with any device it can be plugged into. It's just a few copper wires.
