You cannot. The only iMacs with Target Display Mode support are the 3rd and 4th gen iMacs roughly between the years 2009 (with the 27-inch only at the beginning, later expanding the feature to the 21.5-inch when Thunderbolt was added) to 2014, excluding the 5K iMac released in late 2014.

Yeah, there are certain softwares that allow you to do it but expect latency. Not going to be a solution for gamers or anything, but if you just need some data on the other screen it'd work. No way to do so via Thunderbolt.

I’m using a Luna Display adapter with my M1 Mac mini and 2011 iMac.

As the iMac is non-retina, it’s working at native 2560x1440 resolution, which looks good to me - but I don’t have a 5K iMac to compare it to ;-)
