Can I use a sprint smart phone to tether my Imac?

I need to get my bills down and something has to go.
Was thinking I could drop my ISP and my junk Boost phone and get a Sprint smart phone to get my Imac online?

Or could my Boost phone do this? It's a Motorola I465 Clutch. I hate it.
