One of my friends has an iPhone, and for some odd reason she doesent like it. So she switched to verizon. However, she still has the iPhone at her house and asked me if i wanted it.:eek::eek: Naturally shocked i said of course, but i needed to get some backup information to see if it was possible to still use that phone under a different account. Is it possible?

Thanks :D

you would probably need to get a new sim card from Apple or At&t, and have proof that you didnt steal it or something, I dunno.

How does one prove that? A note from Mommy???:D

uhh...yes.

No umm i dunno how that works really, since she cancelled her contract i dunno if the serial number disassociates with her or what. Call apple and explain how you got the phone and ask what you need to do..

I would make killings after a stunt like that. Most likely the new recipient. ;)

Sorry about your (kinda) loss...

not that this helps you now, but I had the same situation where I got an iPhone from my sister-in-law because it was too complicated for her (she's technologically challenged)-- anyway, I went to AT&T and after explaining the situation, they gave me a new sim and off I went to activate it. They looked at me shadily as if I stole it, but I didn't care-- I had the box and all, but they asked me like three times, "someone just gave it to you?!?"

 That's actually pretty funny! Nice to know though for future purposes. ;)
