Can I use an iPad block to charge the macbook?

So can I use a iPad charging block to charge the Macbook? I know its probably going to charge slower, but is it harmful to the computer? And can I do the opposite; charge my iPhone and iPad using the Macbook charger? (of course after someone releases a lighting to USB-C cable)?
