Can I use an ipod charger for my iphone?

I have a hello kitty ipod charger/alarm clock and wanted to know if it was okay to charge my phone on it? I haven't received my phone yet, but I also don't want to risk putting it on there and have something happen?

i'm sure if u charge ur iPod with it then yes you can, ur iPhone will not blow up, this isn't 80s technology...

Depends how old the clock is. After I think 2007 (?) Apple changed the way iPods etc charge and older docks won't charge newer products.

Either way, all that happens is a message pops up saying the phone isn't charging.
