I bought a 2017 rMBP w/ TB about a month ago and while I've been using a Mac since 2009, the desire to install Windows was never there. The desire still isn't there however unfortunately it's the only way I can play certain games on my Mac, notably, GTA V. I don't want to partition my already small internal SSD so I can play one game on Windows, so my next option would be to install Windows on to an external drive and boot from there.

However, Bootcamp gave me no option to do so. I called Apple and the Senior Advisor told me it's impossible, despite me finding several articles online explaining how to achieve exactly this.

Is this a feasible task? Is it worth it? I have GTA V on my PS4 however that leaves me with zero modding abilities.
