can i use google photos as an automatic backup of apple photos without problems

I always use apple photos, have iPhone which I take most of my pics on, and also a digital camera which I take on holiday, and lob all the pics into Photos on my mac.

I would like another backup but don't want to take up more space on my phone as its only 16gb. can I set up something so automatically on my mac everything backs up to google?

Yes you can, I’ve got a google photos back up and an amazon photos back up
