Hi,

I lost my iPhone 4 few months back and recently got myself an iPad 2. I was trying to restore my iPad from my iPhone backup but apparently only the apps are working (not useful anyway cos they are not compatible). Contacts, photos, notes etc are not in my iPad. I'm wondering why. iPhone backups can only be used in another iPhone?

Please help.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

In theory, it should restore everything that was on the iPhone, that is relevant to iPad

The iPhone and iPad have different types of iOS. So NO that wouldn't work. iPhone backups only work for iPhones not iPads.

Contacts should be on your computer.

Perhaps see if anyone at Apple store can help you.

I would:
Restore it to iPhone.
Sync to iCloud.
Sync iCloud to iPad.

Thanks guys.

I'm still waiting for Apple to ship my 4S, will try to restore it to phone then. Thanks again.
