Can i use macbook pro install cd with macbook 13" 2007

i want to replace my macbook hard drive and want to clear everything on it but i lost my macbook (intel mac 2007)install dvd. can i use the macbook pro osx 10.6 install dvd instead. will it work? how can i start installation from the dvd with the blank hard drive?

You can start from it, but you can't install using that disc. So all you'll be able to do is wipe the hard drive and format it.

I tried this and you definitely can't install. Look for the replacement disks on eBay... shouldn't be too expensive.
