Can I use my dads upgrade on verizon to use with my at&t account?

My dad said I could use his upgrade on verizon to order the iphone 4s but I have At&t...can I take the verizon iphone 4s to at&t and use it? I don't think it will work because at&t and verizon are separate and cannot take his upgrade away,etc... but I just wanted a second opinion.

If Verizon unlocks it for you, then you shouldn't have a problem.
