Can I Use my Iphone in portugal?

i am going to portugal tm and i was wondering if i could use my iphone 4 in portugal?

i called att and asked she at first said no, but i have friends who all have gone to portugal and their iphones connect onto vodafone there or something, so my thing is do i have to do anything to my phone or will it work automatically.

yes i know there are fees for roaming!, but i just want to know if it works. thanks!

Yes, you can. I used mine when in Lisbon/Cascais in April.

Fees are steep.

I used mine in Funchal Madeira. Will be back there again this December, love that island!!

Did u do anything to make it work there? I called AT&T she didn't say there was anything to do.
