Might be a silly question, but is it ok to use my iPhone X charger cable for my Pro Max?

Ha ha so funny you are @hlfway2anywhere !
The Lightning cable has no decrease in charging rates.

What does matter on these newer phones for charging speeds are the charger itself.

Using a 5W stock charger ? Will take forever.
I use a 10 or 12W iPad charger at work which charges almost twice as fast as the 5W.
Then I have got the 18W USB C charger which charges even faster.
I also have the 29W & 61W USB C Mac chargers - but haven't tested them out with the 11.

I need to test out 30W vs 18W also. I've read both 18W and around 25W max charging for the Pro Max.

I used a 29W charger from Amazon with an Apple USB-C to lightening cable on my XS Max and it used to ding twice with plugging it in to let you know it was fast charging.

The 11 Pro or iOS13 did a way with the double ding using the supplied 18W set-up/
