Can I use my Leopard installation disks on more than one computer?

I was wondering if I could use the installation disks which came with my Macbook on another computer. If not, what would happen if I tried?

no oem disks are computer specific. however retail versions will work on multiple machines

however, i would recommend getting licenses for each machine as people work hard to bring you this software

Technically speaking, however, the MacBook OEM disks will install the OS on any MacBook. You should still buy the software license though.

That is ridiculous. Most of us have multiple macs and to purchase a separate license for each unit is out of the question. Apple knows this and they use the 'trust' system, where we the consumer will not take advantage and install on OTHER people's macs.

If you're talking about the tiger restore discs; all macbook restore discs are not the same and some are.

the family pack is there for those on the "Trust" system to not abuse the single license on multiple macs......
