Can I use my printer SD slot to transfer files w/ an SD card?

I need to transfer files other than pictures from my computer to an SD card. Obviously my mac doesnt have an SD slot. Can I use my printer's SD slot to transfer these files? Printer is an EPSON Artisan 810 if that matters.

Yes, you can. I do it all the time with my Epson Stylus CX7400.

The SD slot in the printer acts just like an independent card reader when your printer is connected to your Mac through USB.

HA! yeah's I guess that's true. Basically when I started searching the internet to solve mac problems back in early 00's this place almost always and still does comes up with the correct solutions, hence the joining back in 02. I'm not a super regular but do probably use a few times a month.
