Hey guys,

I'm looking upgrade the storage in my early 2015 retina MacBook Pro, and I found a listing for:

"Samsung PM951 1 TB M.2 NGFF PCIe Gen3 x4, NVME Solid state drive SSD, OEM"

I *Think* this the model that I would need to upgrade it, but I just wanted to check with you guys before I went through and bought it? I'm still not terrible familiar with all these new formats and standards identifiers lol...

Thanks!

No, that won't work. Apple uses a proprietary connector for the SSD's and they're only available as used parts from places like eBay. (OWC offers one which works but it's a different design from what Apple has). Search on the web for "macbook pro 2015 ssd" and look at the pictures where the SSD is being pulled out of the computer and you can see the difference. The one you show also has a Samsung model number and Samsung does not sell the Apple SSD's (to the public).

Of course it's proprietary, why wouldn't it be lol... -__-

Thanks guys, actually helped a lot there! :)
