Hi. I have a Verizon Iphone 6 now and was wondering if I would be able to insert a US Cellular sim card and use the phone on their network. I work in a large automotive manufacturing factory and don't get good signal inside the building, so I would like to try out the US Cellular network, but don't want to buy a new phone if I don't have to. I thought I have read about the Iphones from the 5 and up on Verizon having an unlocked sim slot, but I don't know if that's only for GSM networks and not CDMA networks.

Thanks for the help!

Should work without any issues. I believe the only network the Verizon iPhones don't work on is Sprint.

I'm not sure how US Cellular handles non-USCC devices on their networks. Note that USCC roams on Sprint, so you wouldn't be able to access LTE on the 4 bands that aren't on the Verizon model.

Apple hasn't explicitly said whether even the new SIM-free unlocked model that works on Sprint would work on USCC. The only limitation would be USCC, not anything technical, since it's the same phone that they sell for Sprint and USCC on the inside.

I don't think it works on USCC as I think they're similar to Sprint where you have to use a phone specifically made for their network.

I chatted with a rep from US Cellular (which I guess I should have done first) and she said that they will not activate other carriers devices on their network. I didn't test it out with a sim card from US Cellular though.
