I have just downloaded the Navionics App to my iPhone 3G which gives me nautical charts for my area of boating - New Zealand. Fantastic app - highly recommended if you need such a thing.

Is it possible to connect a say 15 inch monitor to the iPhone to be able to have a larger view of the charts in the cockpit of the boat. The 15 inch monitor simply needs to show the iPhone's screen - there is no need for interactivity via the 15 inch screen as the GPS dot always stays in the centre of the iPhone screen.

I think it's possible to connect a TV screen via composite leads - but the resolution would be too low for the fine detail of a nautical chart.

updated

Hi, I'm new to the forum and my name is Alessandra.
I see you enjoy using the Navionics electronic charts on iPhone.

The update out now gives the possibility to share routes etc via FaceBook!

Have you downloaded it?

Ciao
