I know it has YouTube support, but can you it directly export true HD videos at 720p?

I know that it has high-quality settings ..

And if it doesn't .. is this something that can be changed with a patch or update to iMovie or would it have to wait until iMovie '10?

When I click on Share/You Tube..., the publish window shows the following grid with various options depending on size. YouTube is available for all options, so I assume this will work. I don't have a YouTube account or else I'd give it a try.

I heard the newest update to iMovie 09 has enabled the uploading of HD videos directly to YouTube. This is definitely good to know, but I'm still not sure if I want to stop using iMovie 06.

If you buy iLife 09, iMovie 09 does not install OVER iMovie 06 right? You still have both?

By default, iMovie '09 should not wipe out Movie '06. I upgraded from '08, and '08 did not remove '06.
