iPod touch Can Internal Speaker Play Music?

I was wondering if the internal speaker can play music through it or is it just for games sounds like i have been hearing people saying.

On the new iPod touch, yes it plays music. The old speaker was just for alarms.

really? Mine plays it pretty loud. Even when I'm in the cafeteria at school I can hear mine over all the noise. And when I'm just in my room or someplace quiet then I only have to put it to about half to be satisfied with how loud it is and being able to hear everything perfectly without having to strain to hear the song at all.

I don't think they were ever meant to be of high quality sound. Instead they were installed to make game play more enjoyable.

I just got my iPod touch about an hour ago and I must say that the speaker is not that bad.

the speaker isn't too bad. It's defintely not the best in the world but it serves the purpose. It's better sounding than a cell phone speaker but it's still not the greatest. Mines fairly loud in my opinion.

I just got my iPod touch about an hour ago and I must say that the speaker is not that bad.

Yeah I was expecting it to be horrible from what I've read here but it's pretty good for what it was. I wouldn't use it to listen to music seriously, but for Youtube videos and games it does it's job well.

Louder than a PSP?

Hi there.

I like the idea of a casual speaker inclusion on the touch.

I have a PSP but it is very quiet even when at full volume. Sony are soon to release a new version so it comes down to either another PSP or another Touch.

Touch size is so much more pocketable and now with hardware volume buttons and a speaker, it becomes so much more of a games machine. Sony should be worried! If the addon control pad makes an appearance...

Can anyone tell me if the Touch speaker is louder/better qual than a PSP?
