Hello everyone, i love how the iPhone 7 has a button-less home button, and the fact that the haptic feedback can be turned off.

Can the same be achieved with the 6s? I don't want the "assistive touch", I want to touch the home button once for it to go out of the app, rather than actually pressing it(like it is on the 7)? Where is that option? I don't have any luck finding it? Running iOS 9 and if this is to be gained with 10, I'd gladly switch.

Thank you! :)

You need a few things…

1. Jailbreak.
2. Install Activator.
3. Set the action of touching the TouchID sensor to "Home button".

What you want is not achieveable stock.

I have it because I am jailbroken.

That's a shame. There was no reason to actually press the button since the 5s, but I guess that's Apple.

If i jailbreak it, then I can no longer use the official apple store and it's apps? Or am I mistaken?

I get it now(read the topics regarding the subject), you can use both, because it's basically a modified version of the apples iOS. I can't believe there are apps that let you search, send and receive any file! Finally. :D How is overall system stability in your experience once you jail break it? o_O

Yep, it has been possible for a while, but not implemented. An example, in stock form, is the reachability function used on the Plus models where you double tap to bring the screen down halfway.

Do you mean settings>general>accessibility>home button>rest finger to open?

I'm on 9.0.2 jailbroken and have over 200 tweaks installed. I have no issues and go to bed routinely with greater than 75% of battery.

Not what OP meant.

OP wants to tap on the TouchID and have the response be the same as if he pressed the home button - not an on screen button that follows around.

That's only possible jailbroken.

I'm on 9.0.2 JB as well and it's solid.

My occasional shutdown is due to Apple (my sn is one of the affected phones)...and not the JB as I originally thought.

But won't take it in the servicing for 2 reasons:

1) a spider crack 1/8" long at bottom right which Apple would probably charge to fix before they tackle the battery.

2) if they were to give me a replacement phone...I'd rather keep this. :D

Where did you see where the 7 can be touched for the button to work? I haven't seen nothen about that. Other then unlocking it

It is still a home button, you use it to go back to home screen by taping it once(instead of pressing it, like on other iPhones), you hold it to unlock it, activate reachability by double tapping etc. Difference is, on 7, the button doesn't click, and on all others the button doesn't tap :D

On my 7 you have to still press it in for it to work
