I've got all of my media on a NAS, but several computers in the household. Whenever I add new media, I have to manually add it to all of the computers (iTunes) which can be a bit annoying at times. Is there a way to make iTunes scan for instance the folder iTunes Media and automatically add what isn't already in the library?

I'm sure you could write an Automator app to do that very thing, although, I'm not exactly sure what steps you would need.

That is one of the things I love about Zune. I wish iTunes would do this.

That works if the library files themselves are on the NAS and shared by all the computers, but if the libraries are on the local machines, putting items in those folders will only add them to the library of the machine that opened iTunes first. The files are deleted from that folder when they're moved into the correct media location.

OP - I wish there were a good way to do this as well :(

Thanks for the heads up.
