Can jailbroken iphone 4 be used on other US Carriers?

If I buy a jailbroken iphone 4, can I use it on a carrier other than AT&T? (SO expensive!) or do I have to wait for the verizon iphone 4 which uses CDMA?

It can be used as an AT&T gophone, on H2O or Simple Mobile.

It can be used on any mobile network that uses GSM. Correct me if I'm wrong.

phone must be unlocked as well only 4.0 or 4.0.1 is unlock-able no unlock is being worked on for 4.1 and above as of yet Ultrasn0w is supporting basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, or 01.59 anything else is not unlock-able at the moment!

Verizon is actually more expensive than AT&T.
And a jb and unlocked iPhone can be used with only gsm carriers.

Thanks for the responses people I'll keep that in mind about Verizon prices..

I thought it would only require a carrier unlock and not a total unlock of the whole OS?

yeah but there is no way to get your phone unlocked unless you jailbreak it or buy a factory unlocked phone
