If I buy a jailbroken iphone 4, can I use it on a carrier other than AT&T? (SO expensive!) or do I have to wait for the verizon iphone 4 which uses CDMA?

Really appreciate any help :)

T-Mobile, but only at EDGE speeds. Of course, use MRoogle next time instead of posting or try Google.

phone must be unlocked as well only 4.0 or 4.0.1 is unlock-able no unlock is being worked on for 4.1 and above as of yet Ultrasn0w is supporting basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, or 01.59 anything else is not unlock-able at the moment! ;)

Thanks for the responses people :) I'll keep that in mind about Verizon prices..

I thought it would only require a carrier unlock and not a total unlock of the whole OS?

yeah but there is no way to get your phone unlocked unless you jailbreak it or buy a factory unlocked phone
