I can't seem to find any recent hits on it. I want to buy another external dvd drive and I thought I'd check first? Any 3rd party players that support it? TIA - Jim

"Can mac play BD native now?"

I've yet to see anything that states that it can. Apple doesn't have any interest in Bluray, and I doubt we'll ever see Macs with native BD capabilities.

You still need a 3rd-party "Bluray player app". (such as "Aurora Blu-ray Player")
Or -- rip the BD disk using something like "MakeMKV" (I -think- that's the name of it) and play it that way.

When I got my 2012 MIni (with no built-in optical drive), I bought a Samsung "506" series Bluray/DVD/CD burner. I haven't actually tried using it with BD yet, but it's been fine with DVD's and CD's.
