Is it possible set processor affinity and avoid context switch? A mac pro can have up to 12 cores, 24 virtual cores with hyperthreading, I want to bind a process to a core and never switch. Can the server do this?

Also it is critical that any non-critical I/O be delayed, e.g. spotlight. Is this easily configurable?

My task is realtime and requires careful tuning of the system.
