Hi Everyone,

I read on apple that 8Gigs is the max amount of memory for my macbook pro 15-inch early 2011.

I'm seeing in other places, however, that it's 16Gigs and can read 1600Mhz.

Can anyone confirm that?

yeah, you can put 1600mhz in there if you want, but its probably going to be throttle down to 1333mhz.

i haven't found confirming what you're saying, but it sounds like you're right. most of the people saying that 1600MHz works are using 2.2+ processors, and I'm only at 2.0

Still trying to figure out if I can really put in 16 total gigs of RAM though =P

Thanks!

Actually 2011 MBP quad cores can handle up to 32GB of RAM.
Except no such module exist yet and it can cost up to 1500 bucks.

The 1600 and 1333MHz difference is unnoticeable by the way.
