Can Magic Keyboard 2 with Lighting stay connected all the time

Can I keep connected or plug the new magic keyboard 2 all the time to the imac or can be damaged the rechargeable internal batteries if someone know please help thanks you

When you plug the keyboard into your Mac it annoyingly disconnects while it charges. If you plug it directly into the wall, you can use it while charging, but I couldn't tell you what effect this will have on the battery.
