Can MagSafe from 2007 MB charge MBPRetina?

Hello,

I have a mid-2007 MacBook 2,1 (White casing) that I'm retiring for the MacBook Pro Retina. I still have the MagSafe charger. If I buy the MagSafe1 to MagSafe2 adapter will it safely charge my new MBPR?

I am ruined about damaging the battery but would love the convenience of "charging anywhere" in my apartment.

No. It is too low in wattage power and it will not charge it.

it may not charge but it may extend battery life/ keep it charged under light loads
