As the title says; I have several local mailboxes that I funnel messages into, however some mailboxes are for e-mail alerts and such, which I don't really need to keep for long.

Now I know I could get into the habit of deleting stuff manually, but I'm wondering; is there a way to get Mail to prune e-mails for (chosen) mailboxes automatically? I know how to set retention times for messages on servers, but can it be done for local mailboxes?

Is this not possible?

What about by pruning .emlx files while Mail is closed, or will that just screw up the mailbox?
