Would be nice, using more of the body's space with more screen real-estate... However, they probably wont change... Like them with the iPad Mini, they just cba!

Since there's slightly less than .75" between the corner of the existing screen and the 'black gasket', no.

How does that keep us from having a 14" screen? If the screen was extended all the way to the black gasket it would be almost 15".

1. Screens are measured on the diagonal. 13.3 + .7 = 14
2. If the screen extended to the black gasket, what would hold the LCD in place?

I that case I hope the 11.6 Air would become close to 13 in. That would be the greatest laptop ever made if they could improve the battery an hour or two.

But it's .75" of bezel on *each* corner, right? So we're actually looking at 1.5" of bezel on the diagonal. The total diagonal of the lid is 15", so it would be 1/3 less bezel with a 14" screen.

Personally, I'd love to see a 1600 (or 2880) pixel wide screen on the Air, but I don't expect that to happen any time soon.

The Thinkpad X1 Carbon basically does this, but with a 16:9 screen instead of 16:10. The resolution is 1600x900, so pretty much just the Air's screen with some extra horizontal pixels.
