I have MacBook Late 2008 Aluminium with a base memory of 2GB RAM. And I use Final Cut Pro X for my video projects at school and it is so slow sometimes, I can't even upload it on Facebook or Youtube or save it as a master file. Some say that higher RAM better performance of Final Cut Pro. Is this true?

2GB Ram is a bit low, especially if your'e using Final Cut Pro X and it's no wonder that you're running into performance issues. The System requirements for Final Cut Pro X recommend a minimum of 4GB is needed for it to run smoothly (See mac app store). I have 8GB ram in my Macbook and it runs pretty well and doesn't seem to slow down at all. I don't get any dreaded beach balls either. I would definitely recommend upgrading your Ram. It will make a difference to the performance of FCPX and other pro apps too.

Im pretty sure Macbook late 2008's are upgradable to 8gb, 2gb is very slow though. Go to 8GB and see how it turns out.
