I replaced the broken optical drive in my Macbook 1,1 with a newmodeus caddy and small SSD (Transcend 16GB SLC) for use as a boot drive and have disabled hibernate with SafeSleep. The original HD was replaced with a 500GB WD Scorpio Blue for Storage and a bootcamp partition and everything works just peachy--though it took me 3 weeks of non-stop research, experimentation, and tuning to get to this point.

However, I am wondering if hibernate can be saved by reconfiguring the system to send the sleepimage to the HDD in the original HDD location as opposed to the default action of saving it to the location of the boot volume which in my case is the optical bay?

Thanks,
