can my friend buy me an iPhone?

I tried all day to preorder one on the 15th. No luck. I did place a reservation but never got the confirmation emails. Called the store - I'm not on the list. I went to the store this morning - the line was insanely long and I had to get to work. My question is this: My friend is at another Apple Store. He has one reserved and he's waiting to get his. Can he buy me one? I know there's a limit of two which is fine for us. Can you purchase one on behalf of someone else? Do you need to have two reservations to buy two?

It turns out he can! My friend needed some personal info from me so he just called me on his new iPhone 4 while in the store and bought me one! My 3GS phone no longer works now - the account was transferred. But yay! I bought an iPhone 4 today!!!!
