Can My MacBook Pro Support 8 GB of RAM

15" MacBook Pro 5,1(late 2008)

I know that the newer models can but was unsure if the older model that I have would be able to support 8 GB of RAM. Thanks for your time and knowledge.

yes...but you can use 4GB+4GB....the system will consider as 3GB+3GB,that you will not lose the double cannel.....
