So right now I have 1.5GB of ram in my 15" 1.67ghz powerbook (M9677LL/A), and I'm looking to upgrade the 512mb stick to another 1gb. But, when I was looking at the system profiler (leopard, osx 10.5.2), I see that the speed of the 512MB stick is PC2700U-254330, while the 1GB stick is PC3200U-30440.

Strangely, when I open up the bottom, both sticks are labeled at pc2700. I've switched the sticks and the speed labels remain with each stick, so I don't have a funky ram port.

So the 1GB stick is either incorrectly labeled, or my powerbook can use pc3200 (ramped down to 2700 I assume?).

Anyways, I'm wondering if I can buy a stick of 1GB pc3200 since it's cheaper than one of pc2700. Will this be okay?

Thanks!
