Hi All
I've just bit the bullet and installed Catalina on both my main Mac, and my Macbook pro.
Now, whenever I try to access the shared external drives on the Mac from the Macbook, I get the "The operation can't be completed because the original item for <shared drive> can't be found".
I can access the internal drive of the Mac, which is also shared, but not the external drives.
Could this be something to do with Catalina's habit of needing approval for processes to access data on external drives (e.g. the first time any application tries to access data on an external drive, I have to give permission. However, I'm not being prompted for permission on the main Mac when trying to access shared external drives from the Macbook).
I've tried relaunching Finder, and a reboot of both the Mac and the Macbook, but no joy. Permissions on the drives look fine, and file sharing is turned on for the drives I'm trying to access.
Anyone else seen this / have any idea how to fix?
TIA
Si
