I have a 15PM that got updated to 17.2 as well as an M2 MBP on macOS 14.2 and I now can’t charge my phone. I get this flash up on my screen every few seconds, which seems like my MacBook is trying to charge from my phone, even though I already have my MBP connected to the charger. Using a USB-C cable that came with the iPhone.

Anyone else seen this?

could be a trust thing, did it ask you to trust the device?
it never asked me that, that is the only message that appears. its like it doesnt know its plugged into a mac, just something that is trying to suck too much juice from it.

Assume the phone is unlocked? I get that message sometimes but asks for my pass code on my phone

Looks like your iPhone doesn't like that cable.
Did you try using a different USB-C port on your MacBookPro?
If that doesn't change anything, try a different USB-C cable.
Also, try a more simple fix - unplug one end, plug back in reversed (upside-down)
