The title explains most of my problem. My 1440p 144hz monitor was working fine with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable connected to my 16" MBP ever since I got it. However once I upgraded to Big Sur 11.1, I can no longer change my refresh rate past 60hz and the option to do so is greyed out.
I tried using an HDMI cable and it let me get to 75hz but the resolution was stuck in 800x600 for some reason.
This beta update is absolutely disastrous don't update to it if you haven't already. I have also been getting a lot of problems with video playback in Safari and it has forced me to switch to Chrome in the meantime.
