Can no longer save audio files

I find all of a sudden I cannot save any audio files
I purchased a program clicked on their save this audio button
Now the audio starts to down load and a new screen opens with the
down load bar in the center, with the speaker and play button on the
on the left hand side and the forward and back buttons on the right.

Now I remember when any audio down load was done
when I clicked on the forward arrow on the right side of the bar
I would get a drop down menu and in that menu I would have
the save as choice. This no longer is the case.

So I tried going to the Safari file menu and much to my dismay
the save as choice is grayed out.

This was never a problem before what has changed and how do I fix it.
I just bought an audio program and I cannot save any of these files
