Can not backup iPad2 in iTunes

I've had this problem for a long time now with my first generation iPad. I thought the problem would go way with my new iPad 2 but its still here.
I cant back up my iPad at all.
I have the latest update from iTunes. Itunes can see my iPad but when I right click to try to back up theres no option for it. Same thing with my first ipad I never backed it up because I couldn't now its starting to bug me...anyone have any answers?
