Can not copy files to the desktop after recover from TC?

I have an iMac, and used the function recover from my Time Capsule. In the beginning of the copy/recover I by a mistake chose to keep “2 desktops”, (or something like that…) What happened is that I now can open the harddrive on the iMac and doubleclick the files, but when I try to move them to the desktop, I get the message that they will become unvisible etc. And in Finder I can see that I have 2 desktops… Anyone that knows what I can do to sort this out? ;-)
