Can not get rid of update?

Have the usual red circled number showing a update on menu bar, but when I click on it, it shows that I can not update as I am using a newer version of operating system? How do I get rid of the update showing?

"FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of OS X is too new."
