I have a problem with Office 2008. Every time that i receive a word document that has inside a powerpoint presentation and i double click it i get the message: word can not edit the microsoft powerpoint 97-2003 presentation.
Also i have a CD that has some adobe and word documents attached to a powerpoint presentation and when i click on them i get a message that the path/object could not be found.
But poth these document and CD when i put them in a PC they open without any problems... What is going on????

RE: Can not open PPT presentations attached to a word document

To open a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation in an earlier version of PowerPoint,
you can use the earlier binary file format (.ppt) or the new Extensible Markup Language
(XML)-based file format (.pptx). For more information about the differences between
the two file formats, see File formats that are supported in PowerPoint 2007.

To ensure that you and others can open Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation (.pptx)
in an earlier version, it must be saved so it is compatible with PowerPoint 97-2003.

Your post has absolutely nothing to do with the OP's problem. He clearly states that he has the most recent release of Office which includes the most recent release of PowerPoint.

The OP's problem is not that he cannot open PowerPoint 2007 presentations; his problem is that he can't open PowerPoint 2007 presentations from within Word 2008. My guess is that this is due to the fact that the presentation is embedded using OLE, which is not available on the Mac.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did not know anything about OLE and i looked it up on the net to see what it is and i think that you are probably right. I have a word document and inside there are the ppt documents which open whjen i double click them on a PC but not on my mac.
Is there any way to view these on a mac?
