Can not sync with iTunes

I updated my iPhone software from ios 3 to ios 5 before I started I updated iTunes to the latest version then I backed up my phone, & updated to ios 5 but when I tried to restore the Music & apps iTunes say its a "unknown device" & will not sync with my phone

Can anyone help me.
