To get full access to a Bose soundbar I had to create an account, and I used the "Hide My Email" option with Sign in with Apple (not the iCloud+ feature).

So now of course I get product promotion spam from Bose. But I can't stop it: the Unsubscribe link in the email brings me to a page where I need to enter the privaterelay.appleid.com address (which I have). It then says "A one-time code has been sent to the email you provided. Please enter the code below."

But I never get the code. So the promotional email to the privaterelay.appleid.com address (which relays to my AppleID/iCloud address) comes through, but the login code to update my mail preferences for that same address doesn't (it isn't in the Junk folder, either).

In Settings > "Your name" > iCloud > Hide My Email you can tap on the Bose account and deactivate the account.
